30 days left!

Yes, that is how many days of school we have remaining. This year we have started quite a few new things, some worked and some worked but are being changed anyway. lol  I think that is how our life goes as homeschoolers. For me homeschooling always comes first. For John and the girls, playtime always comes first. Somehow we have to find a way to meet in the middle.

I was really hoping our new schedule for history would mean each girl would finish a history level in one year. It still isn't going to happen. But that is fine. Both of them will finish when they finish and continue on as planned.

Our schedule is changing too. While having school for six weeks and taking a week off was working, we are going back to the old ways and being off when John is home. Life is too short not to enjoy ourselves when he is here. The girls are excited about that, but not so much missing out on having a three-to-four week summer break. Instead, they are looking at a week...maybe. But, honestly, they get off so much time with every other Monday and all of his vacation days! I have no sympathy! LOL

I have now ordered all the books for next year. We are only waiting for math to arrive (it is in FL as I type). All the other books are here and shelved, waiting to be placed on the girl's schoolwork shelves at the end of the school year. Yeah! Jesse is looking forward to her new geography book for history; this year she only did a lot of writing on her maps and next year she'll actually get to color in countries and things. Oh, what excites that girl! lol

Things at home are looking up. I have almost finished getting everything off the classroom floor from December's remodel. Other rooms are getting the once over too. It amazes me how quickly things accumulate (ie mail, laundry, etc.). The yard is blooming, well, turning green. All the plants and trees are greening up (is that a word?) and it makes me happier.

Jesse got a new bike! She was in desperate need of one and she loves it!.

Chloe is excited because next year she'll be in 5th grade (I know!!!) so she gets to start volunteering at the library. She has been driving me crazy about filling out the application. We finally have some black ink for the printer, so she can finally work on it. Jesse was suppose to train her, but since Mrs. Paula left I'm not sure if they are still planning it that way or not. We'll see.
