Five days in already!

We have now completed five days of school! Woohoo!!

I admit on our first day we had lots of trouble, between fire ants in the kitchen cabinet and the girls not wanting to start back to school. But here we are five days later and it is going much smoother. I was worried about the new science curriculum but the girls are enjoying it.

Jesse's science took her outside to "observe trees". She loves anything outside! Chloe's experiment this week actually involved the microscope. Of course, Jesse had to look through the microscope too. She was not about to miss out on any of that fun!

I have to admit it has been a little weird not doing spelling with Jesse. And I think she misses it a bit; it was her favorite subject, because it was easy. lol

We are doing things a little different this year too. The girls are bringing their chairs to my desk when they complete a subject and we are going over their answers right then. Then I push them, on their chair, back to their desk. They said it adds some "FUN" to school. Whatever it takes!

We are loving the break from taekwondo too. Yes, we still enjoy it but a break is always nice after six months. We'll start back in August and we already have two new students signed up! I love new students!! I am hoping one of my new students from May decides to come back. She was so scared at graduation in June. I introduced her to a higher ranking student and explained that it was the higher ranking student's first graduation with us too. I think she felt better hearing the higher ranking student telling her that she was terrified also.

We have new neighbors! They finished building the house, up the hill, and it sold to a nice young couple. We've had several conversations with them and I think they are going to be good neighbors. It also looks like they are going to start building a house across the street and up the hill one lot. There is now a yellow sign, which usually is the beginning of this particular builder's process.
