John's spontaneous moment...

So, there I was digging weeds (taller than myself) out from around our deck when John comes out. (This was Sunday morning about 9:30.) "What do you think about going to Biltmore?"

I kept digging, "What?"

"I found a place to stay where we can take Rosie. I also found tickets for $10 off and the girls get in free. So? What do you think?"

By 10:30, I had showered, we packed, loaded the car and were officially traveling. I have to admit it was a good trip. Rosie did great, both riding and at the hotel. The girls really enjoyed it, which honestly I was surprised by. Chloe was still talking about the "big house" on the way home.

OK. Now I am slightly jealous since I have wanted to go to Biltmore for years now-lol! Looks like a great time-what did the girls think?

The girls actually enjoyed it. They found a lot of it fascinating, especially the toilet bowl with a chair over it just like John had in Iraq. If you guys can find a way to get there, they are letting in all children 16 and under for free (the billboard said for the entire summer). I was worried about Chloe since there is no air conditioning but it was quite cool (upper 80's, low humidity) but she did awesome!

I just wondered because we went to Colonial Williamsburg when Brittany and Tyler were 7 and 5 and Brit. was just telling me this week that she didn't get a lot out of it. We went just a month after David got back from Cuba (which was bad timing anyway- we should have waited). I can't believe it's free for kids! I'll have to look into that!

Are you sure John hasn't been abducted by aliens and the man that went to Biltmore is an imposter?

Courtney-I was shocked to hear it was free but I think no A/C and the economy have forced their hands.

Sonny-You are too much! Yes, it was John. He is changing...and some for the better. ;)
