Today was the day we've been waiting on for about a week. Today, our new house guest arrived. A friend is, heartbreakingly, giving her beloved dog away. We, as a family, decided we didn't want him in a shelter. We are going to see if he will fit in with our family. If he does, we'll keep him. If not, we are going to find him an excellent home.
At first, Rosie was really not happy with the new pooch in the house. By this afternoon, she was getting used to him. Then he got a little to close, for her liking, and she nipped at his ear. Then he bared his teeth and growled. Let me tell you, that little pooch is SCARY looking with his teeth bared. :) By tonight, they were both just hanging. Rosie was not comfy at dinner; she didn't sit next to John as usual. She did come to the table before we finished, but she still didn't look completely comfortable.
I had Rosie on my lap tonight hoping to help settle her. She seemed a little happier and more relaxed. Of course, she is more relaxed now because at 9:15pm he crawled into his crate, and into his bed. I think he is out for the night as we were told he would do. lol
On top of all the excitement, we started school back today. Honestly, when we do schoolwork on drill weekend, it is usually a few subjects or a lot of one subject. The girls were fighting it, but they finally finished their subject(s). We are trying to finish school by the end of May. Usually, we finish mid-June; however, our accountability association is changing their due dates for grades starting 2014-15. For us to be ready, we have to start school in June this year. Do you see the problem here?? We'll get it all done, but the girls are NOT going to be happy about it. LOL
