already?
I have to write this one first because I worry I may forget. Chloe has loved her Christmas this year. She has said repeatedly, "...the elves made it for me." Well, this morning my loving six-year old discovered the markers her elves made were marked "made in China". "The elves do not live in China," the proclaimed, while I was brushing my teeth. "They live at the North Pole." Of course Jesse (our truest believer) said, "They probably went to China and made it there." I'm not sure how the remaining of the conversation went because they left the bathroom while I finished brushing my teeth.
Christmas morning was blissful, but eventful. It started with me falling down a few of the steps on the staircase. I hurt my finger grabbing hold of the handrail to prevent me from going backward, but luckily that was all I hurt. Then the camera flashed "low battery". Then after five seconds of filming the camera said, "memory card full". We were getting nowhere fast! The girls finally did get everything opened. Here is another story for ya: John "hid" some packages for the girls from Santa in our closet. I can say no more. ;) Except, I do love that man!
The girls had a good Christmas at my parents (as did John and I). It was a Christmas full of surprises for most of us. The girls got the bowls/plates, tea cup set and glassware from IKEA they were trying to buy on Tuesday. Chloe was wondering how I knew they would get it."Well, because Grandma and I talk." I still had to explain more but I think she understands that adults talk things over in hopes of avoiding duplicates (which is also why I would not buy her the new Tink movie that came out last month).
John was most surprised I think (I was). My parents got him a huge popcorn maker that resembles the popcorn carts of days long past. He had been eyeing it for a while. I don't remember mentioning it to them, but somehow they knew. He loves it! He wanted to make popcorn when we got home last night but we were all a bit tired. I'm thinking at some point today I'm going to be presented with a bowl of popcorn.
I got a brand new fancy dancy sewing machine. Dad gave me a few lessons on it before we left yesterday. And I found out it was the machine Mom made the girls aprons on. I told Mom I kept looking at the aprons and feeling like I was missing something. It was stitched on a new machine! That is what I was missing.
Well, I'm being picked on again so I shall stop for now. Maybe I can squeeze in a few pics later today.
