I'm not so sure about this particular vacation. Yeah, it started off rocky, then got better, then it hit the rocks. lol John actually had to bring work home this vacation. We intended for him to take next week, to avoid that very thing, but he forgot when we put in his request. Oh, well. Monday we relaxed at the zoo, then Tuesday John worked some more while I took the girls to the dentist (no cavities!). And yesterday was crazy!
Wednesday John worked in the morning, while I took the girls to the library and afterward ran an errand. In the afternoon, we spent a few hours cutting down trees in the backyard. We finally had a company come give us a quote for a fence Tuesday afternoon. What we knew then was we really had to clear around the perimeter where the fence is going so they can put up a fence. So, yesterday afternoon and late evening that is what we worked on. So much crap back there. The worst are the vines; they are attached to everything!
We still have so much more to do today and tomorrow. However, I have to say (from the back of the property) the yard is really looking good. Well, patches are really looking good. There are some places that were pretty much cleared but the builders had left so many trees they fell back there that it is hard to walk. We still have quite a few larger trees to bring to their knees, but most of it right now, I think, is just stuff on the ground and smaller trees that I can get with the pruners...we are not worrying about roots until later. Right now, we need to get the fence installed.
I just can't wait for a fence!!
