Another crazy Dog...

The girls and I went with John to his conference this week in Charleston. We had a good time. I have to say if you find yourself hungry in downtown Charleston you have to try Gilligan's. The food there was fabulous! May I suggest the hushpuppies, crab cake and the roasted baby bakers. Everything was wonderful!! And it was enclosed and air conditioned, unlike the Noisy Oyster.

Wednesday was very eventful! The conference actually started on Wednesday. When John was finished for the day we went to the market, which was right across the street from our hotel. We had never been to the market. It was a fun adventure, but not sure we'll go back. It wound up being 85 degrees and it effected all of us. Being smooshed up with a few hundred people in the market was just too much for us homebodies. But we ventured on. We decided to try the bookstore, Waldenbooks, just down the block. We walked in and I started zoning, my usual in a bookstore. You know. "Okay, where do I want to be?" Then I felt John tap my arm and pull me gently back. "Look." All I saw was blond hair and a camera. A big camera. Then I understood. Dog the Bounty Hunter was standing right in front of me. His wife and a few of his children were there too for a book signing. After we left the bookstore, we headed back to the market to check out a military store that had been closed earlier. As we were leaving I brushed shoulders with Leland, one of Dog's sons. Cool.

We had a great stay and we were even given a tin of cookies by the General Manager of the hotel today before we left. Yep, I did have a problem our last night. Not a big one, but I had to say something. The GM was very friendly and even spoke directly to Chloe to ask her questions. He made me feel better about the whole thing, so now we can focus our memories on all the good that happened.
