Last night, while working in the garden, Chloe found an empty snail shell. She was so excited to have something cool to trade at Nature class. Somehow, it wound up between two notebooks. It was crushed beyond recognition. She is heartbroken.
UPDATE: After posting a brief note on this subject, my friend Carrie said they had several extra snail shells, and she will bring Chloe one the next time she sees her. Chloe was elated.
