Yard work again (or is that "still")

We are still working on the yard projects we started last year. I was so hoping by now we would have everything done and our garden already started. But alas, we are still working on the yard and we didn't think about the garden until this week. It is quite sad.

However, with that said, I am happy to report we have more of the beds mulched. In fact, the girls are getting their own flower gardens this year. They asked last year but with getting the garden ready after the fence, sod, mulch, pavers and all that we did do last year it was not possible. Now, John is making sure they get their flowers this year.

Today, we cleared out the weeds and put down the mulch. Each one will have a whole six foot by nine foot section. They will be separated by another six foot section that will house my rose bush. :) They each chose a garden fence this week at Lowe's. Jesse has talked about a white picket fence forever. Now, she has a little one foot tall white picket fence. Chloe chose a darker one that has three sections. It is harder to describe, but I'll post a picture.

Tomorrow we will do all the planting. Along with moving my rose bush, which grew through the pot last year and planted itself in my vegetable garden. :) I am also planting three hibiscus my Dad sent home with me last week. We are heading up to see my folks again, for my Dad's birthday, and we'll bring back more strawberry plants, a peach tree, an apple tree, hostas and no telling what else he'll come up with between now and then. (If you'd like a few strawberry plants let me know before we go...I'm sure he has more than I can take for my garden this year.)

I'll post a few pictures tonight. Right now we are off to Lowe's to get all we need! You know you've been to a store too much when they say "we haven't seen you in awhile!" Then they proceed to tell the "new" people to be good to us. LOL So, funny.
